Even more practical: you can easily travel by car. In this case, you don't need to rent a car and you can also put some beach games for the kids in the trunk!
WHEN? Spring in Tuscany is a perfect season with kids. Wonderful pool weather, not too hot and the Tuscan countryside looks like a painting. Everything is green and blooming … just beautiful! From time to time it could rain, but not the whole day and most important: the cities are not too crowded. Autumn (September and October) is also a very nice season to visit Tuscany. The temperatures are pleasant, you can still go swimming - the water is around 20 degrees and there are many harvest and food festivals that are fun even with children.
Adults are also looking forward to discover Tuscany with it's historical and picturesque towns and cities (Pisa, Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Volterra) but not only for culture lovers but also for water fans.
There are many beautiful beaches along the Tuscan coast. For example the Etruscan Coast, which extends from Livorno to Piombino. The coast starts rocky, some sandy beaches are hidden in small bays that are sometimes difficult to access. Towards the south, the coast becomes flat and offers long, wide beaches, with miles of shady pine forests. After the Gulf of Baratti to Piombino, the coast becomes steep again. Nice family beaches are for example: Marina di Bibbona, Marina di Castagneto, San Vincenzo and Baratti.
